Bucharest – Cișmigiu Park

Parcul Cișmigiu is a lovely park, and the spring weather draws everyone out. I cannot even begin to express how nice it is to crave being in the sun again, to enjoy the warmth on my face and get out of my jacket because it is so warm. I love it.

The main feature in the park is the lake; however, it was drained for the winter and has not been filled with water yet. That doesn’t matter. The trees are budding and flowering, and the park is packed with Romanians on Sunday. There are a lot of benches in this park, and most are occupied. It was nice.

I go again on Tuesday, and it is less busy and even nicer. I stumble upon a little plaza with chess tables in the park, where people are playing Mahjong, of all things… I guess chess has fallen out of favour here.

Here are just a few photos of the emerging spring vibe.

  1. Well my comment didn’t save! 2nd attempt.
Looks lovely! I bet the park will be nice when everything is in the spring bloom and leaves of the trees too! Lovely.
