Morning Beach Walks

I love my morning beach walks. After waking up and brushing teeth, I go down to the beach and walk barefoot. The waves are unpredictable, so wanting to get my feet wet means that also, every day, I get my shorts wet quite substantially – meaning, not just the legs…

The beach is quiet in the morning, and still has a few areas that are shaded by the higher buildings. The sun is not so powerful yet that I cannot handle the heat and the burn of it. And it is a fantastic start of the day – tanking up on vitamin D and natural light, fresh sea air, contact with the earth (grounding) and getting a little exercise, all in one.

The sand where I am in Mazatlán could be quite fine, or in some areas gravel or a mix of sand and broken seashells. There are smaller and bigger rocks sticking out of the sand as well. Feet beware… Birds leave their footprints all over the sand in their search for food.

There are hotels and condo buildings all along the beach. The hotels usually have an area with chairs and sun umbrellas. There are restaurants along the beach with a great view.

And there are construction sites… I was slightly shocked to see that they let their water runoff go straight to the beach and into the ocean. Now, I don’t know if there is a filtering system inside before the water is released, but I didn’t see any. The streams of water I have seen also were not visibly dirty, but still… it doesn’t make me feel good.

Still, the positive vastly outshines this little fact, just look at the gorgeous photos! And so, I keep enjoying my beach morning walks to the fullest.
